Una, February 18- Municipal Corporation Una held a meeting with the officials of Krishi Upaj Mandi Samiti Una on Tuesday to promote the waste to compost system. In the meeting, information was given about making compost from wet garbage and proper disposal of dry and hazardous waste.
Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Una Mahendra Pal Gurjar said that according to Solid Waste Management Rules-2016, it will be mandatory for those who generate 50 kg or more garbage daily to separate dry and wet garbage at their own level and dispose it. He said that to promote the waste-to-compost system, meetings will be held with the bulk waste generators of the Municipal Corporation area like vegetable market, hotels, dhabas, rest houses, hospitals etc. to create awareness about wet, dry and hazardous waste. Apart from this, information will be given about scientific disposal.
During this time, Thakur Bhupinder Singh, Secretary of Krishi Upaj Mandi Samiti, Vijay Kumar Sanitation Supervisor from Municipal Corporation, Urban Planner Anju Soni, Sushil Gupta, Abhishek Pathania, Babli and others were present.
