Nawanshahr, February 15- Today, as per the decision of the Employees and Pensioners United Front Punjab, a memorandum of demands was submitted to the MLA of Nawanshahr, Mr. Nachattar Pal ji through Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Chief Secretary Punjab Government and Finance Secretary Punjab Government, regarding the long pending demands of employees and pensioners such as DA arrears from 1-1-2016 to 30-6-2021, payment of remaining installments of DA, payment of medical allowance of Rs 2 thousand, settlement of medical claim cases, implementation of revised cashless scheme, regularization of all types of temporary employees, doubling the allowance of mid-day meal workers, withdrawal of false police cases registered during the Corona period, etc.
Earlier, a protest was held in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office under the leadership of Karnail Singh Rahon, Secretary Jeet Lal, Ajit Singh Barnala, Sohan Singh. The protest was addressed by Kuldeep Singh Dudka, Jasvir Singh Moron, Ashok Kumar Finance Secretary, Davinder Singh Thandi, Joga Singh etc. The speakers said that as per the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission, pension should be given as per the formula of 2.59, all types of temporary employees should be made permanent, the decisions of the Hon'ble High Court / Supreme Court should be normalized, the old pension scheme should be restored for the employees recruited from 2004, the cashless scheme should be revised and implemented, the vacant posts in all departments should be filled, mid-day meal workers, Anganwadi workers should be given respectable allowance. A memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister to fulfill the demands like normalizing the decisions of the courts, withdrawing false cases registered against employees and pensioners during the Corona period etc.
The constituency MLA Dr. Nachattar Pal supported the demands and assured to raise the demands of the employees and pensioners in the Assembly.
