Nawanshahr- District Magistrate Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Rajesh Dhiman, exercising powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian National Security Code, 2023, has issued orders to ban the installation of tubewells/submersible pumps without NOC in notified areas (Block and Banga).
In the orders issued, the District Magistrate has said that if any person wants to install a tubewell/submersible from approved works as per the instructions of the Central Ground Water Authority, then he will apply for NOC in their office and obtain permission. The responsibility to investigate unauthorized tubewells/submersibles has been assigned to the concerned Block Development and Panchayat Officer in villages and the concerned Executive Officer Nagar Parishad in cities.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Block Development and Panchayat Officer and/or Banga and Executive Officer Nagar Parishad Banga will be responsible for implementing this order. This order will remain in force till 31 March 2025.
