Quarterly review meeting of Public Distribution System held

Una, January 28 - Under the public distribution system, 1,42,252 ration card holders of the district are being benefited through 322 fair price shops. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal while presiding over the quarterly review meeting of the public distribution system. He informed that Una district has 82,253 consumers of APL category, 18,980 of BPL, 10,089 of Antyodaya Anna Yojana and 30,930 of primary households. He informed that 99.99 percent of the Aadhar seeding work has been completed in the district while 96.6 percent of mobile seeding work has been completed. Apart from this, 98 percent of e-KYC work has been completed.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that from July to November, 2024, 76,788 quintals of flour, 50,503 quintals of rice, 13,236 quintals of sugar, 1,566 quintals of salt, 6,744 quintals of gram dal, 2,174 quintals of Malka dal, 2,067 quintals of urad dal, 7,52,732 liters of mustard oil and 1,33,130 liters of refined oil have been distributed in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that from June to November, 2024, 1316 inspections were conducted by the Food Supply Department in the district and during this period, action was taken in 95 cases on finding various irregularities and a fine of Rs 41 thousand 760 was imposed. Apart from this, 56 shopkeepers and traders were fined Rs 23 thousand for using polythene. Under Himachal Pradesh Clean Control, a total of 20 brick kilns were inspected in the district and a total fine of Rs 81 thousand 775 was imposed due to irregularities.
On this occasion, District Controller Food Supply and Consumer Affairs Una Rajiv Sharma, KCC Bank Manager Vivek Kanwar, Regional Manager Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited Anupam Srivastava, District Inspector ARCS Rajesh Kumar, Sales Supervisor Kuldeep Singh and others were present.
