Una, January 18- Preparations are in full swing to make the district level Republic Day celebrations in Una grand and emotional. On this occasion, Una city will be decorated with beautiful lights and decorations. The main attraction of the celebrations will be tableaux, parades and colourful cultural programmes. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri will be the chief guest of the celebrations. Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar held a meeting with officials on Saturday to review the preparations.

He gave necessary instructions to make the function more inclusive and attractive. On the occasion of this national festival, he asked all the department heads to ensure their presence in the program along with their staff. Active participation of educational institutions will also be ensured in this. He said that this is the first event of national importance being organized here after Una became a municipal corporation. In such a situation, special decorations will be done in the city.
Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the Deputy Chief Minister will hoist the national flag in the premises of Government Senior Secondary School Una on January 26. He will pay tribute to the martyrs at the Shaheed Smarak located at MC Park at 10.40 am on January 26. After this, at 10.55 am, he will hoist the national flag in the premises of Government Senior Secondary School Una. After this, he will inspect the parade, take the salute of the march past and address the people of the district.
Children from various educational institutions of the district will present colourful cultural programmes in the function. Apart from this, tableaux based on various development schemes of the state government will also be displayed. These will show glimpses of schemes related to Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana, Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana, Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar Student Loan Scheme, Rajiv Gandhi Swarajgar Startup Scheme, health, agriculture, horticulture and tourism development. On this occasion, a development exhibition will also be organised in the school premises.
In the function, the Deputy Chief Minister will also honour the officers and employees of various departments who have done excellent work related to public service.
Additional Deputy Commissioner said that in case of bad weather, alternative arrangements have been made to hold the function in the Town Hall.
