Hisar: – Under the able leadership of Superintendent of Police Hansi Amit Yashvardhan and under the guidance of Police Station Manager Lady Inspector Saroj Kumar, an awareness camp was organized on the subject of mental health and stress management for women police personnel in Mahila Thana Hansi.
The team of doctors of Civil Hospital Hisar, mainly Dr. Shalu Dhanda (Physiologist and Psychologist, DCH Hisar) and Dr. Priyanka (Medical Officer, Addiction Treatment Facility) were present in the awareness camp.
Dr. Shalu Dhanda, while creating awareness, said that in today's time it is very important to be aware about mental health. Women employees working in the police force have to face mental pressure and stress due to discharging responsibilities day and night. If this stress is not controlled properly in time, then it can lead to depression, anxiety and other mental diseases in the future.
He said that yoga, meditation, regular exercise, balanced diet and communication with family are important to reduce stress and Dr. Priyanka, while sharing her experience related to addiction treatment facility, said that due to mental illness many people also fall prey to drug addiction. She made the women police personnel aware that they should spread awareness on this subject in the society as well as among themselves.
She said that “A healthy mind is the key to a healthy body and better efficiency.” On this occasion, the women police employees present also shared their experiences with the doctors and asked questions related to mental health. The doctors resolved all the questions and assured that they will keep organizing such awareness camps from time to time.
Police station manager, women inspector Saroj Kumar said that as per the guidelines of Superintendent of Police Hansi, the physical and mental health of every member of the police family is of paramount importance. Such programs not only boost the morale of the employees but also increase efficiency.
Superintendent of Police Hansi Amit Yashvardhan also praised this initiative and said that "Being aware of mental health is the need of the hour. The police force is ready 24 hours a day to protect and serve the society, so taking care of their mental health is our primary responsibility." At the end of the program, all the women police personnel expressed their gratitude to the doctors and pledged that along with keeping themselves mentally healthy, they will also inspire their colleagues and family members in this regard.
