Awareness workshop on drug addiction and its treatment was organized at Punjab Forest Guard Training School

Hoshiarpur- As per the orders of Komal Mittal IAS Hon'ble Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur, Dr. Harbans Kaur Deputy Medical Commissioner Hoshiarpur, an awareness workshop on drug addiction and its treatment was organized at Punjab Forest Guard Training School Hoshiarpur under the leadership of Forest and Wildlife Protection Department Punjab in the presence of Rajesh Kumar Mahajan IFS Divisional Forest Officer Hoshiarpur and S. Gurdeep Singh Forest Range Officer Hoshiarpur and Dr. Mahima Manhas Medical Officer District Rehabilitation Center Hoshiarpur.

Hoshiarpur- As per the orders of Komal Mittal IAS Hon'ble Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur, Dr. Harbans Kaur Deputy Medical Commissioner Hoshiarpur, an awareness workshop on drug addiction and its treatment was organized at Punjab Forest Guard Training School Hoshiarpur under the leadership of Forest and Wildlife Protection Department Punjab in the presence of Rajesh Kumar Mahajan IFS Divisional Forest Officer Hoshiarpur and S. Gurdeep Singh Forest Range Officer Hoshiarpur and Dr. Mahima Manhas Medical Officer District Rehabilitation Center Hoshiarpur.
On this occasion, Counselor Nisha Rani Manager District De-addiction Rehabilitation Center Hoshiarpur while addressing said that according to the World Health Organization, drug addiction is a mental illness, which is treated free of cost in government health institutions. She gave detailed information about the causes, symptoms and concomitant diseases of drug addiction. On this occasion, Prashant Adia, Counselor District De-addiction Rehabilitation Center Hoshiarpur said that in District Hoshiarpur, drug addiction treatment is done free of cost in De-addiction Center Civil Hospital Hoshiarpur and Dasuha.
In which first the patient is detoxed for 15-21 days. After this, the patient is admitted to the Government Rehabilitation Center Mohalla Fatehgarh Hoshiarpur for 90 days, where individual counseling, group counseling, spiritual counseling as well as sports and therapy are also done. He said that along with the treatment of drug addiction, certified skill development courses are also conducted so that the patient can stand on his feet.
On this occasion, Dr. Mahima Manhas Medical Officer said that the treatment of drug addiction is done free of cost by the Health and Family Welfare Department Punjab, if any patient comes for treatment, then the De-addiction Center is committed to give him complete treatment.
On this occasion Dr. Harbans Kaur Deputy Medical Commissioner Hoshiarpur said that with the efforts of Health Department Punjab and Mrs. Komal Mittal IAS Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur vocational courses are also run in the center to help the patients stand on their feet which will prove to be a good platform for rehabilitation of the patients. All the vanguard and staff were present on the occasion.
