Mohali- To raise awareness about the role of robotic surgery in gynecology, Dr. Preeti Jindal, Director of Robotic Gynecology Surgery at Park Hospital, Mohali, along with Dr. Vimal Vibhakar, Senior Consultant of General Surgery and Medical Director, addressed the media today.
Dr. Preeti Jindal informed that Park Hospital, Mohali is now equipped with the most advanced Da Vinci Surgical Robot and the latest 4th generation robotic platform.
She explained, "This represents the next frontier in minimally invasive surgery, enhancing visualization, precision, control, and dexterity in surgical procedures. It enables surgeons to perform complex surgeries in ways that were previously unimaginable."
Dr. Jindal further added, "Surgical robots greatly complement the expertise and experience of surgeons. The robot-assisted arms offer greater stability, precision, and can reach the deepest parts of the body more effectively than human hands. This ensures higher accuracy, increased range of motion, and better surgical dexterity. Additionally, the 3D vision provided by the camera offers surgeons a more detailed and enhanced view, facilitating easier access and improved surgical outcomes."

Ashish Chaddha, Group CEO of North Park Hospitals, stated that while more than 60,000 robotic surgeries are performed annually in India, the number of trained robotic surgeons remains less than 1,000. Keeping this in mind, Park Hospital is soon launching a training program on robotic surgery specifically for young gynecologists.
