Maud Mandi, April 18 – While talking to media at his residence, MLA of Maur constituency Sukhvir Singh Maisarkhana said that the Punjab Government led by Bhagwant Singh Mann of Aam Aadmi Party is committed for the progress of backward classes of society. He said that the Punjab Government is working according to the thoughts and principles of Bharat Ratna, Constitution maker and Yugpurush Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
On this occasion, he said that Punjab has become the first state to take initiative to provide reservation for SC community in the post of Advocate General. On this occasion, MLA Sukhvir Maisarkhana thanked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, while congratulating the SC community for this achievement, MLA Maisarkhana said that the demand for reservation in AG office was being raised since the year 2017, but the previous governments did not pay any attention to it, whereas now the Punjab Government has given reservation to SC community. 58 posts have been reserved for the community.
He said that apart from this, the study of the backlog has shown that Scheduled Castes are not getting any post due to income status. The seats reserved for the community could have remained vacant, so the Punjab government has exempted the people of SC community from the income requirement so that they can be nominated as government lawyers in the office of AG Punjab and represent the voice of the backward classes of the society along with the government in the court.
This will also facilitate the Scheduled Caste community to become judges in the future. Because the experience of working in AG Punjab will prove beneficial for them. Sukhvir Singh Maisarkhana also said that the state government is also providing free scholarships to the children of backward classes for studies.
