Sensex, Nifty close lower for third consecutive day.

Mumbai, June 19 - Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty closed lower for the third consecutive session on Thursday amid weak trends in global markets. The ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel has created market panic among investors. Experts said the US Fed's decision to maintain interest rates also dampened market sentiment.

On Thursday, the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 82.79 points, or 0.10 percent, at 81,361.87. The 50-share NSE Nifty fell 18.80 points, or 0.08 percent, to 24,793.25.
Among the Sensex firms, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, Nestle and Tata Steel were the top losers. Its top gainers were Mahindra & Mahindra, Titan, Larsen & Toubro, Bharti Airtel and Maruti. Meanwhile, the rupee fell 30 paise to close at 86.73 against the dollar.
