Hoshiarpur: As per the directions of the Honorable Member Secretary of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar and in compliance with the orders of the Honorable District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Mr. Dilbagh Singh Johal; Honorable Mr. Raj Pal Rawal, CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Hoshiarpur celebrated World AIDS Day at the local Central Jail today.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Mr. Harjinder Kumar Legal Aid Defense Counsel Hoshiarpur informed the inmates/prisoners lodged in the jail that the purpose of celebrating this day is to create awareness among people of all ages about the epidemic AIDS spread due to HIV infection. This day is celebrated to create awareness about this disease for a healthy and happy life.
The HIV virus attacks the patient's immune system and reduces the resistance to all 'diseases' and along with this, detailed information was given about providing free legal services to drug addicts and drug addicts and free legal aid to acid attack victims.
Officials of Central Jail, Hoshiarpur were also present on this occasion. The staff of Legal Aid Defense Council also distributed promotional materials about free legal services to the inmates/prisoners.
