Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh reviewed the progress of various development works in the district

Hoshiarpur: To review the progress of various development works, welfare schemes and administrative services being carried out in the district, Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, while holding a meeting with officers of all departments, stressed the need to provide benefits of welfare schemes to every eligible person and expedite ongoing works.

At the local district administrative complex, Deputy Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha Jai Krishna Singh Raudi, MLA Bram Shankar Jimpa, MLA Jasvir Singh Raja Gill, MLA Advocate Karamveer Singh Ghuman, MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar, Mayor Surinder Kumar and Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh reviewed the ongoing and upcoming works under Municipal Development Funds, Punjab Urban Environment Improvement Programme-Phase 3, 15th Finance Commission grants, development schemes, MPLAD projects and Punjab Nirman Programme.
The Local Bodies Minister said that he will also hold a review meeting with the administrative officers including the MLAs every month in which the monthly progress of development works and welfare schemes will be reviewed.
Reviewing the repair and maintenance of link roads in the district, Dr. Ravjot Singh instructed the officers to ensure the necessary repair of the roads as soon as possible and in view of the upcoming foggy-winter season, white stripes, radium signs, reflectors etc. should be installed. He said that apart from building bridges, installing culverts etc., the work of upgradation of roads should also be expedited. 
He also reviewed the progress of the work of various government buildings being constructed in the district. Meanwhile, it was informed that the Judicial Court Complex at Mukerian, Sub-Tehsil Complex at Hajipur and the residences of judicial officers at Hoshiarpur have been completed, while the work of Government Degree College, Mukhaliana is in progress.
The Local Government Minister also reviewed the ongoing solid waste management, liquid waste management works, housing scheme, MGNREGA works, water supply and sanitation works in the district and directed the officials to speed up the pace of these works. While reviewing the works related to the Sewerage Board, he also reviewed the works going on at Hoshiarpur, Gardiwala, Garhshankar, Mahilpur, Talwara etc.
 It was informed about the Ashirwad scheme of the Punjab Government that the applicants till the month of August are soon being given the benefit of the amount due under the scheme. The Cabinet Minister reviewed the works being done for the people by the Industries Department, Fisheries Department, Education Department, Health Department.
During the meeting, Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Raudi and the MLAs also sought information from the officials about the development projects related to their constituencies and called for maximum benefit of welfare schemes to be provided to the eligible persons. On this occasion, Deputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Chairman of Nagar Sudhar Trust Harmeet Singh Aulakh, Member of Gau Seva Commission Jaspal Chechi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nicas Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Rahul Chaba, all SDMs and officers of various departments were present.
