Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 14, 2024: As part of the traffic awareness campaign, the District Police organized a special seminar today at Mata Sahib Kaur Public School, Village Sawara, Landran Road, Tehsil Kharar, District SAS Nagar to sensitize the students about not using drugs; and following traffic rules.
The main objective of this seminar was to motivate the students about the ill effects of drugs, following traffic rules and going in for sports. Children below the age of 18 were informed about not driving vehicles. And it was also told that if a child below the age of 18 drives a vehicle, then his parents can be imprisoned for 3 years and fined up to Rs. 25 thousand. The person who gives a vehicle to a child below the age of 18 can also be imprisoned for 3 years or fined.
On this occasion, due to the efforts of the school Principal Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Dhillon and other teachers, the students were also made aware of the physical, mental and social harm caused by drugs under the Health Safety and Awareness Mission. This seminar created a new sense of awareness among the students, with which they will be able to live a right life while understanding their responsibility towards the society. Karnail Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic, finally honored the winning players of the marathon race with medals and motivated all the students to go towards sports.
Apart from this, all the students were made aware that you should make your family members aware of the lessons learned from this seminar. And make your family members aware of not driving after drinking alcohol and not driving at high speed and motivate them to follow traffic rules.
