Nawanshahr- On the directions of the Director Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, the district level Kisan Mela will be organized on 11th July 2025 at Bajaj Palace, Banga-Mukandpur Road, Tehsil-Banga. Giving information in this regard, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma said that about 1300 progressive farmers will participate in the Kisan Mela where a team of experts from the Agriculture Department and PAU Ludhiana will provide technical information to the farmers about the crops of Kharif 2025.
He said that Punjab State Container and Warehousing Corporation Chairman Dr. Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi will attend as the chief guest while MLA from Balachaur Santosh Kataria will be the special guest. He said that Deputy Commissioner Ankurjit Singh will inaugurate the Kisan Mela.
Joint Director Agriculture Eng. Jagdish Singh will preside over the Mela and address the farmers. He said that agricultural experts will provide technical information to farmers on the method of sowing kharif crops, proper use of water and fertilizers and to protect crops from pests/diseases.
Exhibitions will also be organized by various departments showing new technologies related to agriculture. Therefore, all the farmers of the district are appealed to participate in this camp and get technical information related to agriculture.
