Rajpura/Patiala, November 9: International Kabaddi player and MLA from Ghanour Constituency Gurlal Ghanour has been unanimously elected as the president of Kabaddi Association Punjab. All the members of the association made this election unanimously during the meeting held at Rajpura.

All the members of the association made this election unanimously during the meeting held at Rajpura. On this occasion, Tejinder Singh Midu Khera was elected as the General Secretary. The election was conducted under the leadership of Chief Electoral Officer Dal Singh Brar, Election Observer Upkar Singh Virak and District Sports Officer Patiala Harpinder Singh.
36 members from 18 districts out of total 23 districts of Punjab registered their attendance. Ghanoor MLA Gurlal Singh Ghanoor as President of Kabaddi Association Punjab, Tejinder Singh Middu Khera General Secretary, Baljit Singh and Iqbal Singh Senior Vice President, Bhupinder Singh Kamalpreet Singh Harjit Singh and Nirmal Singh Vice President, Kamaljit Singh Kuldeep Singh Baljinder Singh and Jaskaran Kaur Joint Secretary and Charan Singh were elected Treasurer.
 Newly elected Kabaddi Association President Gurlal Singh Ghanour said that today's election was conducted in a very peaceful manner. Thanking all the members of the association, he said that two national level kabaddi tournaments will be conducted at the Punjab level very soon, apart from this, various initiatives will be taken to promote the mother sport of kabaddi. Gurlal Ghanour said that although the election of the association is for four years But the election of the association was not held for a long time, due to the efforts of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Maan, the election of Kabaddi Association Punjab has come to fruition.
On this occasion, Gurtaj Singh Sandhu, Ranjodh Singh Virak, Gurmeet Singh Dhanda, Manjit Singh Darsan Majoli, Inderjit Singh Sialu, Nishan Singh Sandhu, Dimple Suhro, Charanjit Singh, Gurnam Singh, Lala Sandharsi, Damanpreet Singh Kheri, Rachpal Singh, Pinder Baghora, Rodi Gurna Kheri, Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, Virender Lochma, Advocate Paramveer Singh, Sandeep Jarikpur, Satnam Singh Harpala, Sarba Narru, Mandeep Singh Dhillon, including a large number of former players, Panch, Sarpanch and Halka residents were present.
