
Door-to-door inspection was done under the campaign 'Every Friday, Attack on Dengue'
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 8: As part of the campaign 'Every Friday, Attack on Dengue', health teams today conducted door-to-door container inspection in different areas in all health blocks of the district; And people were also informed about the symptoms, causes and prevention of dengue fever. Acting Civil Surgeon Dr. Renu Singh himself inspected the ongoing campaign. The health teams specially checked all the places where dengue cases are coming up. The teams went door-to-door to check potential breeding sites for mosquito larvae.

Dr. Renu Singh while talking said that a large-scale campaign is being conducted across Punjab under the leadership of Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh to prevent dengue fever. Under which every Friday, all the senior health officials conduct inspection, spraying and awareness campaign at different places in the morning. He said that the health department has launched a strong attack on the dengue-spreading mosquito and people's cooperation is also urgently needed for its eradication.
He said that dengue is a fever caused by the bite of Aedes aegypti mosquito. Common symptoms of dengue include severe headache and high fever, pain in muscles and joints, pain in the back of the eye, bleeding from the nose, mouth and gums when the condition worsens, nausea and vomiting. Mosquitoes that spread dengue breed in standing clean water such as in coolers, water tanks, flower pots, trays behind refrigerators, broken/discarded utensils and empty tires and water drums etc. Dengue testing and treatment is free in government health institutions.
