SAS Nagar, Nov 4 - Mohali police claimed to have solved a string of robberies by arresting a gang of robbers. Police said they have arrested six members of the gang. During a press conference today, Rupnagar Range DIG Nilambri Vijay Jagdale and district police chief Deepak Pareek said the police have solved the case of assault on Deepak Agarwal and his woman companion and snatching their Thar jeep in Mandi Gobindgarh late last night.
Police have arrested Arjdeep Singh resident Barkandi district Bathinda, Jaspal Singh resident Barkandi, Gurpreet Singh resident Chandipur Mohali, Vikram Singh resident Chandipur in this case. Two other accomplices Angadjot Singh resident Sector 35D Chandigarh and Saima Khan alias Khushi have also been arrested.
They have confessed to stealing the jeep. Police have recovered the stolen Thar jeep, i20 car, a country-made pistol, a live round and the Swift car used in the incident from the accused.
