6th National SWAT Championship conducted

Chandigarh, October 5 - Swat Association India organized the 6th National SWAT Championship at Sports Complex Sector 56, Chandigarh to commemorate the 46th birth anniversary of Kargil hero Shaheed Captain Sumit Roy 'Veer Chakra'. On this occasion, the chief guest Mrs. Sapna Roy, mother of Shaheed, formally inaugurated the championship. 200 players from 15 states participated in the championship.

In the medal list, West Bengal stood first, Himachal Pradesh second and Haryana third. Nasir Feroze of Bihar and Manseerat of Haryana were selected as the best boxers. Rohit Kumar Prajapati of Bihar was declared the best average boxer and Sharian Mukherjee of West Bengal was declared the fighter boxer. The Best Discipline Team Trophy was awarded to Bihar.
In the closing ceremony of the championship, the chief guest Sardar Iqbal Singh honored the winning players by giving medals. The winning players were selected for the 5th Asian SWAT Championship 2024 Indonesia.
