Mahilpur 30 October - The team of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur captured the championship trophy in the Punjab University Inter College Championship held at Punjab University Chandigarh from 22 October to 29 October. The football team of the college, which arrived at Khalsa College Mahilpur today with the winning trophy, was given a warm welcome by the office bearers of the management committee of the institute, the principal and all the staff. On this occasion, General Secretary of Sikh Educational Council Professor Apinder Singh, Senior Vice President Gurpreet Singh Bains, Virinder Sharma, Principal Harbhajan Singh Sporting Club President Kulwant Singh Sangha and College Principal Dr. Parwinder Singh along with former football players of the area congratulated the college team.
Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary Professor Apinder Singh, Principal Dr. Parwinder Singh, Principal Jagmohan Singh Badon, Kulwant Singh Sangha, Harnand Singh Khabra and Coach Bandhana Singh said that Khalsa College Mahilpur has its own special place in the field of football. On this occasion, team coaches Harinder Sunny and Charanjit Kumar said that a total of 19 teams of colleges under the university participated in this championship. During which the players of Khalsa College Mahilpur displayed excellent game in the entire tournament and achieved the pride of becoming the inter-college champion by getting a total of seven points.
