Reviewing the progress of the work during the meeting of the District Road Safety Committee, he said that this prestigious project is an important initiative to curb crimes along with the safety of citizens. Which should be completed within the stipulated time frame. He said that 80 percent of the work has been completed. The Deputy Commissioner asked the officials of GAMADA that if there is any obstacle, it should be removed and the remaining 20 percent of the work should also be completed. He also asked the project in-charge officials to link the project with Vahan app through NIC so that challans can be issued automatically to the violators effectively.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the various responsible agencies like NHAI, GAMADA, MC Mohali, PWD and MC Zirakpur to rectify the black spots. That they complete the remaining work by November 12 to ensure safe passage for daily commuters. He asked the NHAI officials to switch on the switched off lights at Zirakpur Chowk with immediate effect and also install new lights at Daidi (Banur) T Point. So that safe and smooth movement of people can be maintained.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Municipal Corporation Mohali officials to switch on all the switched off red lights especially the lights of Fortis Hospital 9/10 and 10/11. He urged Gamada to complete the under-construction roundabout and said that this roundabout will play an important role in the smooth flow of traffic, so it should be completed soon.
He accepted the request of Harpreet Singh, a private member of the committee, to conduct an audit of schools with road-facing entrances to take appropriate steps for the safety of students.
