On this occasion, Prof. Promila Batra, former head of the Department of Psychiatry, MD University, Rohtak, and Dr. Puneet Phul, Phul Neuro and Multispeciality Hospital, Patiala, expressed their views as experts.

On this occasion, Prof. Promila Batra, former head of the Department of Psychiatry, MD University, Rohtak, and Dr. Puneet Phul, Phul Neuro and Multispeciality Hospital, Patiala, expressed their views as experts.
Presiding over the program, Dean Student Welfare Prof Monica Chawla said that in today's time when life has become complicated. So the problems related to mental health are increasing. In such a situation, creating awareness about mental health has become the need of the hour. Addressing the students, Prof. Promila Batra referred to the various stresses associated with student life and explained the ways to solve many problems.
He said that repressing many emotional feelings in the heart is not only dangerous for mental health but it also damages our ability to fight diseases. Due to which many physical problems arise. He said that there is a need to break myths and taboos related to mental health. Whenever someone has a problem, they should tell their loved ones and, if necessary, mental health professionals.
Dr. Puneet Phul, speaking with reference to the data released by the World Health Organization, said that the condition of mental health related problems is continuously getting worse. Twenty years from now mental health problems will be the leading cause of death in the world. He said that we should come out of social media and choose good friends With whom you can talk about your heart. Staying in constant contact with friends also works as therapy. While conducting the program, counselor Dr. Ruby Gupta from the student counseling center of the university also made important comments with reference to mental health.
At the end of the program, Provost Dr. Inderjit Singh gave a vote of thanks. At the end of the program, the winners of the painting and photography competitions held in the past were awarded to the students of the hostels.
