Kachi Ghori folk dance of Bundi district Rajasthan became the center of attraction in Saras Mela

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 19 October 2024: In the Saras Mela organized in the premises of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Mohali, artists from different states are captivating the people who came to the fair by presenting their artwork and different folk dances related to the smell of the soil. Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal, who is overseeing the cultural programs, said that the presentation of Kachi Ghori folk dance in the Shekhawati region of Bundi district of Rajasthan is becoming a center of special attraction among the audience.

Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal, who is overseeing the cultural programs, said that the presentation of Kachi Ghori folk dance in the Shekhawati region of Bundi district of Rajasthan is becoming a center of special attraction among the audience.
This folk dance of the land of Rajasthan originated from the hard sand of the dunes of Jaisalmer and is especially performed in the states of Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. This dance is most popular in Rajasthan. Ganesh Kumar Soni, who is leading this folk dance, said that it is celebrated in the Teja Dashvan month in the month of September in the memory of Baba Ramdev Pir in Pokhran, Rajasthan. In this folk dance, the artists entertain the people with horses and umbrellas, equipped with folk musical instruments like Algoja, Dhol, Gagar, Khanjari, Taal etc. 
He told that 8 artists in this group force the audience to dance with their captivating performances. Babul Lal is playing Khanjar in this group for the last 40 years and Algozawad Arjun is leading this group for the last 45 years and he said that they have performed this folk dance in almost every state of India. Group leader Ganesh Kumar Soni told that folk instruments like Khajri, Algoja, Dhol, Taal, Gagar etc. are used in this dance. Besides this, Tarantali folk dance, Kalveliya, Ghodonar folk dance are popular in Rajasthan.
