The second day of Saras Mela was dedicated to clean India

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 19, 2024: During the Saras Mela being held for the first time in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, various artists are giving their performances to entertain the fairs. At the same time, the students of schools and colleges of the district are giving awareness messages about social evils and understanding their responsibility towards the society along with colorful programs.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 19, 2024: During the Saras Mela being held for the first time in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, various artists are giving their performances to entertain the fairs. At the same time, the students of schools and colleges of the district are giving awareness messages about social evils and understanding their responsibility towards the society along with colorful programs.
Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal, who is in charge of cultural programs, said that under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) and Mela Officer Sonam Chaudhary, the second day of the fair was dedicated to 'Clean India and Clean Environment'. Meanwhile, poster making, poetry recitation, skit and speech competitions were organized with the support of District Education Officer (Secondary) Dr. Ginni Duggal, in which about 20 schools participated. Students of School of Eminence presented a beautiful choreography and conveyed the message of clean environment. On this occasion, Bhangra and Haryanvi dance was presented by Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landra team.
 The students of Government Girls' School Sohana entertained the fairs with Haryanvi folk dance. Under the leadership of the District Education Officer (Secondary), the students of 10 government and non-government schools enjoyed the fair. National Awardee Artist Gurpreet Singh Namdhari, Dr. Ramit Vasudev, Shubhwant Kaur, Government High School Saneta were supervising this program and Prof. Ranjit Singh was responsible for conducting the stage.
Under the guidelines of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, a unique initiative of this fair will be to conduct an awareness program based on a daily theme. A special program on women's health care has been drawn up as part of the awareness campaign.
