SAS Nagar, October 11, 2024:- SAS Nagar district Mandis has witnessed the arrival of 31126 MT of paddy by Friday evening, out of which 28106 MT crop has been purchased by the Agencies, said the Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain, here, today.
       Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner said the 17 procurement centres have recorded the arrival of paddy in the district wherein Pungrain, Punsup, Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, Markfed and Food Corporation of India have been entered in procurement operations.
      She said that from today the lifting has been started in Derabassi, Lalru, Jarout and Kharar Mandis while the rest of the Mandis will also see the lifting of paddy in a day or two. The Deputy Commissioner today directed the procurement agencies to spruce up the lifting to avoid the glut of Mandis.
      The Deputy Commissioner said that as per the directions of Punjab Chief Minister the district administration will not let any problem to the farmers bringing paddy to the Mandis.
