Chandigarh, June 22 - More than 37.56 lakh people participated in the International Yoga Day 2025 campaign launched yesterday under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, making this program the biggest and most effective yoga movement of this year. This program has given a unique boost to the message of a Yoga-rich, drug-free Haryana.
Chandigarh, June 22 - More than 37.56 lakh people participated in the International Yoga Day 2025 campaign launched yesterday under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, making this program the biggest and most effective yoga movement of this year. This program has given a unique boost to the message of a Yoga-rich, drug-free Haryana.
State Health and Ayush Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao said that a total of 7,11,246 people participated in the yoga sessions organized across Haryana yesterday, June 21, while about 30.45 lakh people participated in the ongoing campaign. Apart from this, a total of 1,50,065 saplings were also planted throughout the state during this campaign as part of the Green Yoga initiative.
He said that the main state-level International Yoga Day 2025 programme organized in Kurukshetra focused on community engagement and overall well-being, resulting in 1,01,000 participants participating and 1,00,000 saplings being planted. He said that such a large participation shows a symbolic synergy between people’s health and environment.
Kumari Aarti Singh Rao said that the plantation drive programme of the International Yoga Day has also been a resounding success, in which 2,02,270 saplings have been planted so far. Besides, 25,57,000 registrations were received on the official IDY portal.
He appreciated the efforts of the AYUSH Department, saying that it played a significant role in encouraging 1,58,941 participants for the main program organized in Kurukshetra and planting and maintaining 5,198 saplings.
The Sports Department also played a major role in strengthening the message of physical and mental well-being through Yoga by getting the maximum participation of 1,81,710 participants.
Haryana Health and AYUSH Minister Aarti Singh Rao has thanked all the departments, officers, employees and volunteers who played a significant role in ensuring the success of the mass movement of this International Yoga Day 2025.
