Nawanshahr - A voluntary blood donation camp dedicated to the 120th birth anniversary of Bhagat Puran Singh Ji, the epitome of human service, was organized at the local BDC. In which 41 blood donors donated blood. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. JD Verma, President of Netradaan Sansthan, JS Gidda, PR Kalia, Dr. Ajay Bagga, Manager Manmeet Singh, Narinderpal former Post Master, Yuvraj Kalhiya, Rajinder Thakur, Rajiv Bhardwaj, Malkiyat Singh Saroa, Satnam Singh Sujo, Madam Inderjit Kaur, Madam Priyanka and Parth Verma were present. Dr. JD Verma said that the life of Bhagat Puran Singh Ji, a symbol of human service, is an eternal source of inspiration of humility, simplicity and self-sacrifice for the needy. Being an environmentalist, Bhagat Ji kept giving priority to awareness for the prevention of many social evils. Yuvraj Kalia, the organizer of the voluntary blood donation camp dedicated to Bhagat Ji's birthday, donated blood first. After this, Satnam Singh Sujo donated blood. On this occasion, JS Gidda, on behalf of the management, said that one unit is equal to many units in the last summer season. For this, the organizers of the blood donation camp, all blood donors and technical staff of BDC deserve congratulations. Dr. Ajay Bagga, while sharing information to highlight the slogans of blood donation awareness, said that healthy persons aged 18 to 65 years, whose body weight is not less than 45 kg. And hemoglobin should not be less than 12.5 grams per cent can donate blood at an interval of three months from the first donation with medical approval. He appealed to the blood donor angels to come forward to contribute keeping in mind the increasing need for blood in the summer season. The organization honored each blood donor by giving a certificate and a memento.
