Govt Polytechnic Khoonimajra in coordination with DBEE holds site visits for students

SAS Nagar, October 2, 2024:- Collaborating with industry to inculcate essential practical skills among the students, Civil Engineering students of Govt Polytechnic Khoonimajra were given the opportunity with the help of the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise (DBEE).

SAS Nagar, October 2, 2024:- Collaborating with industry to inculcate essential practical skills among the students, Civil Engineering students of Govt Polytechnic Khoonimajra were given the opportunity with the help of the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise (DBEE).
Divulging the details, Rajiv Puri (Additional Director, Deptt of Technical Education) said that this meeting with the industry was started today at R S Builder Sector 82, Mohali. The program was organized with the help of Harpreet Singh Manshahia, Deputy Director DBEE and Er Ravijit Singh, Managing Director RS Builder cum President Industrial Business Owners Association Sector 82, Mohali.
About 85 students and faculty members participated in this one-day workshop under the leadership of Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal, Officer-in-Charge of the Civil Engineering Department.
During this workshop, Er Ravijit Singh shared ideas on topics like new possibilities in civil engineering, the art style of Chandigarh's design architect Lee Corbusier, concrete technology and green building. He also familiarized the students with the design and technology of the buildings under construction.
Additional Director of Technical Education Rajiv Puri, while appreciating the innovative initiative of the Civil Engineering Department for starting this interaction, described the meeting as a milestone for marking the importance of technical education in the transition of a new Punjab by the Punjab Government.
Deputy CEO Sukhman Kaur Bath, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, DBEE encouraged the students about their linkage with the industry and self-employment sources to enhance their skill development.
Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal said that with the help of Er Ravjit Singh, various training and site visits will be conducted for the students so that the students can adapt themselves according to the industry and construction industry as per the need of the hour. On this occasion, career counsellor Nabiha from DBEE, Prof. Preet Palia, Prof. Barinder Pratap Singh and Prof. Puneet from Govt. Polytechnic College, Khoonimajra, were also present.
