
Appeal from patriots to postpone Youth Festival due to floods and Ghadri Babas' fair.
Jalandhar:- The Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee, while issuing a special appeal and letter, has strongly appealed to the Vice-Chancellors and Director, Youth Welfare of Punjabi University Patiala, Punjab University Chandigarh, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar, Agricultural University Ludhiana and Guru Angad Dev University Ludhiana that when Punjab is badly affected by floods, then appeal to the Punjab government and instead of holding Youth Festival this time, the same money should be released for the help of flood victims.

The committee also says that when the whole of Punjab is immersed in deep mourning, in that period, instead of performing Giddha and Bhangra, it is expected to be more serious, serious and responsible towards our society and stay connected to the painful vein of our soil, culture and society. They said that Youth Festivals can be held on any other suitable occasion.
Desh Bhagat Yadgar Committee President Ajmer Singh, General Secretary Prithipal Singh Marimegha and Convener of Cultural Wing Amolak Singh informed the press with reference to the letter issued by the committee that along with this, the second request has been made in the letter that due to the publication of the resonant magazine 'Ghadar' on November 1, 1913, which became the voice of our country's independence from the soil of America, the state annual fair of Ghadri Babas, which is celebrated at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall, Jalandhar, is being celebrated this time also on October 30, 31 and November 1.
Therefore, while preparing the schedule of the Youth Festival, any university should keep in mind the annual fixed dates of the 'Mela Ghadri Babayan', which has become a center of special attraction in the world Punjab community, because artists from all universities and colleges of Punjab, along with their families, participate in the three-day festival in various art competitions and high-quality performances.
The committee said that it is noteworthy that this time the Mela Ghadri Babayan is being dedicated to Bibi Gulab Kaur. Therefore, universities should make efforts to encourage maximum number of students, especially female students, to participate in the art forms of the festival and the festival, and to deepen the color of patriotism in them.
