On the occasion of National Blood Donation Day at BDC, a pledge was taken to remain eternally dedicated to keeping the lights of life alight.

Nawanshahr- October 1 is celebrated as National Blood Donation Day. Dedicated to the birthday of Prof. Jai Gopal Jolli, the founder of the safe blood donation movement in India, on this day, the staff, committee members and social workers and representatives of the district unit of “Mera Yuva Bharat” came together at the local BDC Blood Center and took a pledge to remain selfless in saving human lives and to remain dedicated to blood donation service, rising above the differences of castes and communities.

It is worth mentioning that the celebration of National Blood Donation Day has become even more important during the National Mega Blood Donation Awareness Fortnight running from September 17 to October 2. The oath-taking ceremony was attended by SK Sarin, GS Toor, JS Gidda, Parvesh Kumar, Madam SK Toor, Dr. Ajay Bagga, Yuvraj Kalhiya, Dr. Dayal Saroop, Madam Rekha Jain, Manager Manmeet Singh, Rajiv Bhardwaj, Narinderpal Toor, Rajneesh Jain, Mukesh Kahma, Rajinder Thakur, Priyanka Kaushal, Neha Kaushal, Sunaina, Bhupinder Singh, Gaurav Saloh, Jatinder Kumar, Ashish Kumar, Sukhvir Pabla, Gaurav Rana, Jaspreet Kaur, Jaskaran Singh, Kuljit Kaur, Lovepreet, Prabhjot and Madam Bandana Law, Madam Kanchan etc. from Mera Yuva Bharat were present.
Laddus were also distributed on National Blood Donation Day. Then regular blood donors Narinjanjot Singh and Gurpreet Singh came forward to start a voluntary blood donation camp. Twenty voluntary blood donors had donated blood in the camp.
