Chandigarh, August 17 - Haryana's Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Mr. Anil Vij said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the campaign "One Tree in the Name of Mother" has been started. The Prime Minister had said that the affectionate relationship a child has with his mother, the same emotional relationship should be with our trees. It should be kept in mind that it is more important to take care of them than to plant more trees.
Mr. Vij was addressing the District Level Van Mahotsav program "One Tree in the Name of Mother" at Gandhi Ground in Ambala Cantonment today as the Chief Guest.
Mr. Vij said that trees will be planted in every ward and village in Ambala Cantonment as per the requirement. He said that trees are important for life. During the program, along with Mr. Anil Vij, the Nagar Parishad Chairman and Deputy Chairman and other people planted Kadambh trees in Gandhi Ground.
On this occasion, street plays and other programs were presented with environmental messages.
