Chandigarh, August 18, 2025: The largest journalists’ union, Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana, today accelerated its campaign to submit state-level demand letters in the interest of journalists by handing over memorandums to the government through the Deputy Commissioners in Nuh and Gurugram.

Chandigarh, August 18, 2025: The largest journalists’ union, Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana, today accelerated its campaign to submit state-level demand letters in the interest of journalists by handing over memorandums to the government through the Deputy Commissioners in Nuh and Gurugram.
Providing this information, the founder and state president of Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana, Dr. Indu Bansal, said that the union has been fighting for a long time regarding all pending demands of journalists, but the government is not paying any attention to these demands.
Dr. Bansal stated that, in view of the delays in addressing the pending demands of journalists, Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana is running the largest-ever campaign to submit demand letters, which was initiated a few days ago when the Palwal, Pataudi, and Rewari district units of Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana submitted demand letters to senior officials of their respective districts.
Dr. Bansal informed that, as part of this campaign to submit demand letters, under the leadership of senior journalist and president of the Nuh district unit of Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana, Naresh Mehndiratta, senior journalists and office-bearers of the Nuh district unit, including district patron Ved Adlakha, vice-president Sonu Verma, vice-president Lalit Garg, general secretary Tahir Hussain, organization secretary Rajeev Prajapat, district co-secretary Anil Mohaniya, publicity secretary Surendra Mathur, social media in-charge Abhay Singh Saini, print media in-charge Rakesh Verma, electronic media in-charge Aslam, legal advisor Advocate Manju Lata Singh, members Ramesh Sharma, Dinesh Kumar, Sanyam Mehendiratta, legal advisor Advocate Gagan Nagpal, member Mustafiz, Pradeep Kumar, along with other journalists, submitted a demand letter to Nuh’s Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena.
In Gurugram, under the leadership of senior journalist and president of the Gurugram unit of Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana, Satbir Bhardwaj, senior journalists and office-bearers of the Gurugram unit, including Kapil Gaur (district general secretary), Sumit Thakur (district secretary), Aman Gupta (district social media in-charge), Sonia (district publicity secretary), and Arvind, along with other journalists, submitted a demand letter to Gurugram’s Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar.
Dr. Bansal informed that copies of this demand letter have also been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Haryana Cabinet Ministers Anil Vij and Ms. Aarti Rao through these senior administrative officers.
Dr. Bansal stated that, as a strong link in this demand letter submission campaign, Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana will soon submit demand letters to the government at all district headquarters of Haryana, including Ambala, Hansi, and Gohana.

Main Demands of Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana:

1. A Journalist Protection Law should be implemented in Haryana on the model of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
2. The fixed monthly pension amount for working journalists should be increased from 15,000 to 25,000, and the name of this journalist pension scheme should be changed to Journalist Samman Nidhi, along with simplifying its rules.
3. A cashless health insurance scheme of 10 lakh rupees should be implemented for working journalists in Haryana, following the Punjab model.
4. A free education scheme for all children of working journalists’ families should be implemented in Haryana, based on the Rajasthan model.
5. A Journalist Housing Scheme should be implemented soon in Haryana, under which all journalists should be provided houses free of cost or at subsidized rates.
6. A Digital Media Act should be implemented in the state, and digital media should be given recognition and facilities similar to print and electronic media.

Main Demands of Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana for Journalists Across the Country:
Dr. Bansal said that Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana is not only advocating for journalists in Haryana but also for journalists across the country, demanding the restoration of railway concession services for accredited journalists, which were discontinued during the COVID period, and the exemption of toll fees for accredited journalists at toll plazas across the country.
Dr. Bansal said that Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana has been agitating for a long time in the interest of journalists regarding these issues and demands. Due to delays and neglect of these pending demands, Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh Haryana has launched a state-level campaign to submit demand letters.
