
A total of 15 samples including seasonal fruits, biscuits, sauces, cakes etc. were collected by the District Health Officer and Food Safety Team.
Hoshiarpur- As per the orders of Honorable Commissioner Food and Drug Administration Punjab Mr. Dilraj Singh IAS and Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Pawan Kumar Shagotra, District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia, Food Safety Officer Mr. Munish Sodhi and his team conducted checking in Sabzi Mandi Tanda and Sabzi Mandi Dasuha this morning. During this, samples of seasonal fruits like bananas, mangoes, hadwane, papaya etc. were collected from the vegetable market. Rotten lemons were destroyed on the spot.

After this, several shops were checked in the market of Hajipur town. From which samples of sauces, cakes and biscuits were collected. District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia said that the collected samples will be sent to Food Lab Kharar for testing and further action will be taken after the report comes.
He said that the Health Department is committed to providing clean food to the people. No person who plays with the health of the people will be spared. After this, the Food Safety Team visited PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School Hajipur. Shopkeepers of Hajipur market were also called to the school. On this occasion, while addressing the students and shopkeepers in the presence of school principal Sanjeev Kumar and his staff, DHO Dr. Bhatia informed about the harm caused by the consumption of energy drinks and told that as per government orders, the sale of Sting and other similar energy drinks has been banned within 50 meters of schools in urban areas and within 100 meters of schools in rural areas. If any shopkeeper is found violating these orders, legal action will be taken against him. He asked the food vendors to follow the rules of FSSI so that clean and healthy food can be made available to the people.
