Hoshiarpur: The District Legal Services Authority today organized the first National Lok Adalat of the year 2025. In this Lok Adalat, cases related to NI Act (Section 138), Bank Recovery (Pending and Pre-Litigation Cases), Labor Cases, MACT (Motor Accident Claims Tribunal) Cases, Electricity and Water Bills (Except Non-Compoundable), Marriage Cases, Traffic Challans, Revenue Cases, Other Civil and Less Serious Criminal Cases and Domestic Disputes etc. were kept.

The Lok Adalat was presided over by District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority Dilbagh Singh Johal. A total of 24 benches were constituted in Hoshiarpur on this occasion. This includes 10 benches in Hoshiarpur court, 4 in Dasuha, 3 in Mukerian, 2 in Garhshankar and 5 benches of revenue courts. 20025 cases were heard in Hoshiarpur District Lok Adalat in which 17294 cases were settled on the spot and awards worth a total of Rs. 7,33,66,781 were passed.
Special help desks were set up by the Police Department for traffic challan payment so that traffic challans pending in the courts could be easily settled.
During the Lok Adalat, District and Sessions Judge Dilbagh Singh Johal, CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Rajpal Rawal along with Bar Association Hoshiarpur Vice President Vikram Singh and Secretary Navjinder Singh Bedi visited all the Lok Adalat benches. Bar Association Hoshiarpur extended full support in making this program a success.
CJM-cum-Secretary District Legal Services Authority Raj Pal Rawal appealed to the people to take maximum advantage by filing their cases in Lok Adalats. This saves time and money. The decisions taken in Lok Adalat are final. No appeal can be made against it. This process also helps in increasing mutual goodwill between both the parties.
