Chandigarh:- A CTU electric bus overturned at a bend near Sector 17 in Chandigarh on Friday morning. The accident took place around 10:15 am and there were 15 to 20 passengers in the bus at that time. The police reached the spot within a few minutes to evacuate the passengers from the bus. According to the SHO of Sector 17 police station, the bus suddenly lost balance and overturned while taking a bend.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the accident. Several passengers suffered minor injuries and were immediately taken to the government hospital in Sector 16 for treatment. Police officials confirmed that all the injured have been rescued safely and are out of danger.
Rescue and relief operations were carried out swiftly, and the police immediately reached the spot to take control of the situation. During the initial interrogation, the driver of the electric bus said that while he was taking a turn, the vehicle suddenly accelerated due to a technical fault, due to which it overturned.
The police have started an investigation into the exact cause of the accident. Officials assured that an investigation will be conducted to find out the cause of the accident so that the safety of passengers can be ensured in the future.
