
Training of Medical Officers on War on Drugs and National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 1:- Under the Punjab Government’s War on Drugs and National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction, the second batch of training on drug de-addiction and rehabilitation for 38 medical officers from Mohali, Ropar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Malerkotla and Ludhiana districts began from September 1 to September 5 at the Cluster Resource Centre (CRC, AIMS Mohali) set up in the Department of Psychiatry, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Mohali.

In this five-day training, training will be imparted by various experts on drug prevention, treatment, counselling and rehabilitation.
Director Principal of AIMS Mohali Dr. Bhavneet Bharti, while welcoming the entire medical officers, encouraged them to contribute their full potential to pull the youth out of the mire of drugs in the present times so that the society can be made better.
Dr. Nidhi Malhotra (Psychiatrist, AIIMS, Mohali) shed light on the Data Intelligence and Technical Support Unit (DITSU) set up by the Punjab Government and Ananya Birla Foundation under the War on Drugs campaign and the various rehabilitation schemes of the Punjab Government for drug addicts.
Cluster Resource Centre trainers Dr. Priya Arora and Dr. Harsimran Kaur (Psychiatrist, AIIMS, Mohali) provided training to the entire medical officers on various subjects.
