Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, August 4: All facilities for examination and treatment are being provided to pregnant women in government health institutions of the district absolutely free. Talking in this regard, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sangeeta Jain said that in government hospitals, all facilities are provided to women from pregnancy to delivery absolutely free of cost by the government.
And financial assistance is also provided under the Janani Suraksha Yojana for institutional delivery. The facilities provided free of charge include examination and medicines, treatment of the child up to one year, blood facility, ultrasound, lab test, food and drink facility, transport to and from health institutions, etc.
Meanwhile, during an online meeting with senior health officials of the district, Dr. Jain gave instructions that no pregnant woman should be deprived of quality health facilities and necessary care. He said that to reduce maternal mortality rate, it is very important to identify pregnancy problems on time so that their treatment can be started on time.
In this way, no problem of any kind will arise during delivery. All pregnant women should be registered as soon as possible and special care should be taken of high-risk pregnant women so that deaths during delivery can be curbed. The Civil Surgeon said that one of the main objectives of the Health Department is also to reduce maternal mortality rate. For this, better maternal and child health services should be provided to the people.
Dr. Sangeeta Jain also appealed to the people that pregnant women should get their check-up done by a specialist doctor in government hospitals only because specialist doctors are more knowledgeable. Going to such people who do not have the expertise in examining pregnant mothers can endanger the lives of both the mother and the child.
