In view of the situation of overflowing of rivers and streams, water entering houses and shops and damage to development projects, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has directed the district administration to expedite relief, rescue and restoration work on war footing.

He said that the state government is fully alert and is constantly monitoring the situation. The district administration has been directed to take all necessary steps immediately giving top priority to the safety of people in the affected areas.
The Deputy Chief Minister has sought a detailed report from the district administration and assured that additional resources and manpower will be made available immediately if required, so that there is no delay in providing relief material and assistance anywhere.
He said that all possible help and quick relief will be provided to the affected families and any kind of negligence or laxity will not be tolerated.
Mr Agnihotri has appealed to the people to remain alert, stay in safe places and follow the guidelines issued by the district administration. He said that he himself is keeping a close watch on the situation and the entire administrative machinery is engaged in relief and rescue operations with full readiness.
