Young women of Phase 7, Ward No. 11 celebrated Teej festival with enthusiasm.

Mohali- Teej festival was celebrated with full enthusiasm under the leadership of Anuradha Anand, Councilor of Phase 7, Ward No. 11, Mohali. A colorful cultural program showing glimpses of Punjabi culture was also organized in this program, in which a large number of local girls participated. Daljit Kaur Sidhu, wife of former Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu, arrived as the chief guest in this program.

On this occasion, women dressed in various Punjabi costumes increased the enthusiasm of Teej festival by singing Bhangra, Gidda, Boliyan etc. The dance and songs of the girls made the entire program colorful.
Talking about the importance of Teej, Councilor Anuradha Anand said that Teej is the cultural identity of Punjab. These festivals provide an opportunity to women to meet each other, keep their folk culture alive and have fun as well as strengthen mutual brotherhood. In today's era where people are moving towards a mobile life, festivals like Teej connect us to our roots.
On this occasion, social worker Jatinder Anand Tinku, husband of councilor Anuradha Anand, also emphasized the need to celebrate Teej festival on a grand scale and connect the young generation with Punjabi heritage.
Food and other festival related facilities were also provided by the organizers during the function. The councilor thanked the women who came in large numbers and assured that such cultural programs will be organized continuously in future as well.
