The very strong wall of the ground of the village of Halluwal collapsed again like in previous years.
The water that entered the houses of the poor laborers on the western side of the villages not only damaged the essential household items, but also posed a risk of spreading diseases due to the mud standing in the streets and houses. It is also extremely important to widen the bridge under construction on the road going from Kaharpur to Rampur. The government and the concerned departments should take action as soon as possible to take care of the people and help them.
This idea was expressed by Talwinder Singh Heer Nangal Khilariyan, an active leader of Bhakyu Ekta Ugrahan, after reaching out to the people of all these villages and listening to their problems. He said that the link road connecting the main road from Jian to Jejon, which goes further to Himachal, was badly damaged near our village Nangal Khilariyan.
Where we have been regularly performing our duty for two days and requesting the vehicles to pass through other routes, but still many arbitrarily try to pass the vehicles by not following the advice and get trapped, due to which there is a risk of huge loss of life and property. The government and higher authorities should pay special attention to this road and make it passable as soon as possible.
In the coming time, to protect villages and roads from damage due to floods, a thorough survey should be conducted by experts and a permanent solution should be found by building strong stone embankments to stop the flood water from destroying the villages and roads. People should not be fooled by temporary arrangements.
On this occasion, Kuldeep Singh Sarpanch, Malkit Singh Heer, President Harjinder Singh, Retired Colonel Surinder Singh Mahi, Jatinder Singh Nangal Khiladri, Teja Singh Mukhomajara, Dalbir Singh, Chaman Lal and a large number of flood victims were present.
