Jalandhar:- It is the duty of every citizen to pay income tax on time and correctly. This was said by Commissioner of Jalandhar Income Tax Department, Mrs. Balwinder Kaur (IRS) during an exclusive conversation with senior journalist and social worker Sanjeev Kumar.
Mrs. Kaur clarified that income tax is the backbone of the economy of any country. The tax received by the government is used for infrastructure, education, health, security and social welfare schemes. She said that every taxpayer should deposit their tax within the stipulated period so that their contribution to the progress of the country can be ensured.
The Commissioner Income Tax appealed to the people to submit correct and truthful information about their income while filing income tax returns. Hiding income or giving wrong information is not only a legal violation but also hinders the progress of the country. She assured that the Income Tax Department is constantly trying to ensure transparency, easy system and convenience of taxpayers.
On this occasion, he also said that by adopting the habit of depositing taxes on time, not only does a person avoid fines and interest, but as a responsible citizen, he also contributes to strengthening the country's economy.
