Quarterly review meeting of Public Distribution System concluded under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Jatin.

Una, September 16- Under the Public Distribution System, 1,43,275 ration card holders of the district are being benefited through 322 fair price shops. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal while presiding over the quarterly review meeting of Public Distribution System in his chamber on Tuesday. He informed that Una district has 83,614 consumers of APL category, 18,835 of BPL, 10,000 of Antyodaya Anna Yojana and 30,826 consumers of primary households.

He informed that Una district has 83,614 consumers of APL category, 18,835 of BPL, 10,000 of Antyodaya Anna Yojana and 30,826 consumers of primary households.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that from June to August, 2025, 48,963 quintals of flour, 30,115 quintals of rice, 6,742 quintals of sugar, 528 quintals of salt, 948 quintals of gram dal, 1,823 quintals of Malka dal, 2,450 quintals of urad dal, 85,438 liters of mustard oil and 2,36547 liters of refined oil have been distributed in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal informed that from June to August, 2025, 850 inspections were conducted by the Food Supply Department in the district and during this period, action was taken in 7 cases on finding various irregularities and a fine of Rs 10,055 was imposed. Apart from this, 17 shopkeepers and traders were fined Rs 12 thousand for using polythene.
Along with this, 403 inspections were conducted under Himachal Pradesh Specified Essential Commodities Distribution Regulation Order 2019, in which action was taken in 7 cases and a total fine of Rs 2,54,982 was imposed. Under Himachal Pradesh Bricks Kiln Control, a total of 6 brick kilns were inspected in the district and a total fine of Rs 20 thousand was imposed due to irregularities.
On this occasion, District Controller Food Supply and Consumer Affairs Una Rajiv Sharma along with officers of the concerned departments were present.
