District Red Cross Society dispatches Relief Material to Flood-Affected Areas Across Punjab

SAS Nagar, September 16: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ms. Komal Mittal, the District Red Cross Society, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, has been extending humanitarian support to flood-affected people by dispatching relief material to various parts of Punjab.

SAS Nagar, September 16: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Ms. Komal Mittal, the District Red Cross Society, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, has been extending humanitarian support to flood-affected people by dispatching relief material to various parts of Punjab.
Divulging details, Assistant Commissioner (General) Dr. Ankita Kansal informed that on August 29, three hundred nutritious food kits, lassi, pinni, bottled water, roasted grams, and other essential items were sent to district Tarn Taran. Similarly, on September 3, dry ration kits, medicines, sanitary pads, baby diapers, biscuits, juice, tarpaulins, clothes, and other supplies were sent to Amritsar (Lopoke), while 199 tarpaulins were dispatched to flood-hit areas of district Jalandhar.
 On September 4, the Red Cross branch distributed 140 dry ration kits in flood-affected areas of sub-division Dera Bassi. The following day, 1,000 dry ration kits were handed over to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Dera Bassi for distribution among affected families.
Continuing further, Dr. Kansal said that on September 9, the Red Cross dispatched 100 mattresses, 50 cartons of water, 10 mosquito nets, 66 tarpaulins, 2 cartons of medicines, 9 cartons of sanitary pads, baby diapers, biscuits, juice, toothpaste, toothbrushes, clothes, shoes, and slippers for men, women, and children to flood-affected areas of district Ferozepur (via Deputy Commissioner’s Office). 
On September 15, relief material was sent to Amritsar (Ajnala), which included 105 mattresses, 88 cartons of water, 17 mosquito nets, 20 cartons of medicines, 20 cartons of sanitary pads and baby diapers, 22 cartons of biscuits and juice, 40 dry ration kits, 110 kg sugar, 500 kg rice, 60 packets of salt, 3 cartons of mustard oil, 2 cartons of spices, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and clothes, shoes, slippers for men, women, and children.
She added that this noble cause, initiated by the Deputy Commissioner and district administration, has been strongly supported by generous donors and organizations whose contributions have been highly commendable. She also appreciated the efforts of District Red Cross Secretary Harbans Singh and the entire branch team for their proactive initiative.
