Chandigarh, September 14, 2025:- Former Chandigarh MP and Additional Solicitor General of India, Shri Satya Pal Jain, stated that apologizing for others' mistakes and for objectionable remarks made against others is the best human thought and behavior.
Shri Jain said that if mutual misunderstandings are resolved in time, it brings sweetness to social relationships and reduces unnecessary tension in society.
Shri Jain was addressing the gathering as the chief guest during the ‘Kshamavani’ program organized by the Jain community at Shri Digambar Jain Temple, Sector 27 B, Chandigarh.
Shri Jain further said that although apologizing is considered noble in all religions, Jainism has set a remarkable example in the world by celebrating it annually as a festival.
He noted that in social life, while performing tasks, sometimes words are spoken that hurt others' sentiments. Initially, this causes minor misunderstandings, which, if not addressed, can later turn into enmity, resulting in significant harm to all parties involved.
Therefore, Jainism has established the tradition of celebrating Kshamavani as a festival, providing an opportunity each year for individuals to apologize for mutual grievances, thereby preventing misunderstandings from escalating into enmity.
On this occasion, Shri Jain was also honored by the Jain community.
