Nawanshahr - District administration Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar led by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman saluted the hard work of newspaper hawkers and gave them special honor by giving them new bicycles as Diwali gift. Many hawkers became emotional with joy after receiving such honor for the first time at ITI Ground Nawanshahr today.
On the occasion of this brief and effective program organized in collaboration with District Red Cross Society under the motto 'Nai Udaan-Suchna Ki Sawari', Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman said that newspaper distributors without leave, they wake up at around four in the morning and leave their personal comfort to deliver newspapers to homes and offices even in extreme cold, heat and bad weather.
But people do not even know their names. He said that the main religion of these stubborn, tireless and hardworking people is their hard work. He also invited other people to get inspired by their hard work and dedication. The Deputy Commissioner said that this is not a charity but a noble effort of the district administration to salute their hard work and passion.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the purpose of honoring these hardworking people is to give them encouragement as well as respect. He said that he is very happy to receive this honor.
It is noteworthy that the honored newspaper distributors have been continuously distributing newspapers in various cities, towns and villages of District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar for many years. They said that this honor received for the first time today has given them a new flight. Sharing their many years of experience in newspaper distribution, they said that today is a happy day and a proud moment for their families. They thanked the Deputy Commissioner for this initiative. Many newspaper distributors were also seen getting emotional on the occasion of receiving the honor. During this, 35 newspaper distributors were honored.
On this occasion, MLA Banga Dr. Sukhwinder Sukhi, AAP leader Lalit Mohan Pathak Ballu, Additional Deputy Commissioner (C) Rajiv Verma, SDM Nawanshahr Dr. Akshita Gupta and others were present.
