Hoshiarpur - Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal while giving information said that paddy harvesting has started in the district and burning of paddy stubble and crop residues has been completely banned in the district. The government has given the target of reducing the incidents of fires in crop residue pits to zero during the year 2024 to district Hoshiarpur.
Control rooms have been set up at the block level in the district to provide farmers with information about stubble management and machinery as per their requirement. Farmers can call these control rooms from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM to get information about available stubble management machinery in the block.
