Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, September 10: Rotary Club Mohali in association with Inner Wheel Club Mohali Blissful, District 308 today handed over 19 boxes of medicines worth around Rs 2.5 lakh to Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal at his office for distribution among flood affected people.
Rotary Club President Satish Arora, members Navneet Saxena, Ashok Gupta and Satvir Singh Dhanoa along with Inner Wheel Club President Asha Sood and Secretary Vijay Sood requested the Deputy Commissioner to ensure that these medicines reach the needy so that it can help prevent possible diseases post flood.
Expressing gratitude for this noble gesture, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that this is a testing time for the affected people, who have faced a great tragedy and who need help in every possible way from all over Punjab. He said that people and organizations are continuously giving generous help, and assured that the district administration will ensure that this help reaches the needy in a timely manner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Geetika Singh and District Red Cross Society Secretary Harbans Singh were also present on the occasion.
