Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, October 9, 2026:- As part of a special initiative by the Punjab Government to mark the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, a 30-minute special documentary film was screened through LED screens in the villages of Ghogha, Ghogha Kheri and Machhipur in the Kharar block. The objective was to familiarise people with the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj and his message for the welfare of humanity.

Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Komal Mittal said that the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj continue to be a source of inspiration for society. He always emphasised equality, mutual respect, hard work, love and a spirit of brotherhood. His philosophy inspires us to rise above caste distinctions and social differences and treat all human beings equally and with respect.

She said that the Punjab Government’s initiative to screen this special documentary in villages to mark the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj was commendable. It is providing villagers with an opportunity to learn about the life of Guru Sahib and his spiritual and social message.

The Deputy Commissioner said that adopting Guru Sahib’s teachings in our lives and passing them on to the younger generation is our collective responsibility. She said that such initiatives play an important role in further strengthening mutual understanding, harmony and unity in society.

This initiative of the Punjab Government is an important step towards taking the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj and the path of humanity, equality and social justice shown by him to the people.
