Kharar (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), September 27, 2026:- The Punjab Government is showcasing a special documentary film dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj through LED screens in villages across the district. As part of this initiative, the special documentary film was also screened for the devotees at Pattran, Todar Majra and Majat villages of Kharar block. The Punjab Government has also initiated a state-wide documentary programme for the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
Kharar SDM Gurmeet Singh, while providing further information, said that the Punjab Government was undertaking various initiatives to celebrate the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj with devotion and enthusiasm. As part of this, the special documentary prepared for the occasion was being screened from village to village through LED screens so that the maximum number of people could become familiar with the life, teachings and message given to society by Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
He said that through his hymns, Sri Guru Ravidas Ji conveyed the message of equality, brotherhood, honest labour and mutual respect to humanity. His teachings continue to be a source of inspiration for guiding society in the right direction even today.
The documentary screened at Pattran, Todar Majra and Majat villages of Kharar block was watched with keen interest by the villagers and devotees. Through the documentary, the life of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji, his hymns and his message for the welfare of humanity were presented in a simple manner.
The SDM said that such initiatives play an important role in connecting the younger generation with the teachings of our great Gurus and saints. He appealed to the devotees to participate enthusiastically in the programmes dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.
