Una, October 17:- Eligible people who have been unable to access financial inclusion schemes will now have an opportunity to avail banking, insurance and pension services. A special saturation campaign will be conducted from October 21 to December 31. Under this campaign, being implemented by the Union Government’s Department of Financial Services, at least one special camp will be organised in every Gram Panchayat and urban local body.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Una Ishant Jaswal said that special emphasis would be placed on opening new bank accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, reactivating dormant accounts and completing the KYC process. In addition, eligible citizens would be enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana. Aadhaar seeding for insurance schemes and other banking-related services would also be undertaken.

He said that Jan Dhan accounts for families belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) would be opened on a priority basis. People would also be made aware of ways to protect themselves against digital fraud and the importance of financial literacy, enabling them to access banking services and financial schemes safely.

The ADC said that the district administration and banks would work jointly to ensure the effective implementation of the campaign. Necessary facilities would be provided at the camps, and local public representatives, Panchayat Secretaries, self-help groups and Bank Mitras would also be involved in the initiative.

He appealed to eligible residents of the district to visit the camps organised at their nearest Gram Panchayat or urban local body between October 21 and December 31 and avail themselves of the benefits of the schemes for which they qualify.
