Shri Chintpurni/Una, September 28:- The work on the grand beautification and expansion of Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple will begin during the upcoming Navratras with the laying of the foundation stone. The project, estimated to cost around Rs 206 crore, will develop the temple complex in accordance with the convenience of devotees and better arrangements. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said on Monday that all necessary formalities related to the project have been completed.
The Deputy Chief Minister performed prayers at Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple and participated in the havan-yajna. He prayed for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state.
He said that Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple is an important centre of the religious and cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh and lakhs of devotees visit here every year to pay obeisance to the Mata. The temple complex will be developed keeping in view the convenience of devotees, better arrangements and religious tourism. He said that upon completion of the project, facilities for devotees at the temple complex would be expanded.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that major religious places of the state, including Mata Chintpurni, Mata Naina Devi and Baba Balak Nath, are not only centres of deep faith but also symbols of the rich religious heritage. He said that these major temples of the state have a special identity not only for their religious significance but also for their rich resources. Their rich heritage and available resources should be utilised in an appropriate and transparent manner for temple development, facilities for devotees and better management.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that local traders have put forward their suggestions and demands regarding the proposed ropeway project in Chintpurni. He said that the tender for the project has already been awarded. In such a situation, discussions between the local traders and the concerned implementing agency will be facilitated so that their views can be placed directly before the agency. He said that during implementation of the project, if there is scope for necessary adjustment at any level keeping in view local conditions and technical possibilities, the matter will be discussed with the concerned agency. Efforts will be made to find a practical solution keeping in view the interests of all concerned parties.
He said that along with temple development, the interests of local traders and residents of the area would also be taken into consideration, and progress would be made in coordination with all concerned parties to provide better facilities to devotees.
On the occasion, Block Congress Committee Haroli president Sandeep Agnihotri, STA member Ashok Thakur, SDM Amb Paras Agrawal, Temple Officer Sanjeev Prabhakar, former Panchayat Pradhan Tilak Raj Sharma and Baridar Sangh president Ravinder Chhinda, among others, were present.
